West City Darts Club Night 1st Oct 2020
Boy Oh Boy - a first ever Club Night Final win, is no easy task !

A few less entries this week. Some probably stayed at home to watch a Leaders debate, or something like that, on TV, or study all the Election junk mail flyers?

Or maybe they couldn't find their Covid mask to come out? Whatever the reason it didn't make the night any less competitive.

Harrison Donegan made his second consecutive final and is fast becoming the man to beat if you want to win. Patrick Shannon couldn't do it last week but Gary Boyland did just that to take this weeks Final - his first time - and the bragging rights to go with it.

Is there a subtle power shift going on?

In contrast Mike Day and Frank Riddell both failed to make the semi-finals for the second week in a row, which is unusual that a least one of those two doesn't.

Should I compare this to the recent MVG slump? No better not.

Lets leave well alone, don't want to rev either of them up. I could be playing one or both of them next week. Don't want the to ruin my happy mood, because despite all Covid doldrums it is good to be at the club nights, playing again.

I do practise every night. Hey, thats not BS - I do, despite my non-qualification for the KO rounds this week.

Anyway, it can be a bit hard to motivate for that 'home alone' nightly practise session, so Club Night is my Joe Pesci. Something to aim at. If you are old enough and watched enough movies you will get that..😏

Anyway, I'll let you all get back to the US Presidential debates. Don't know why it isn't pay-per-view. Its like the old WWF - Ravishing Rick Rude v Hacksaw Jim Duggan - but with wigs and receding hairlines (you can work out who is who but I have a fair idea who is the 'rude' one).

See you next week down at the club. Remember 7PM check-in
