Club Night Results 16 July 2020
The night also saw the return of club secretary Steve "The Pirate" Hanley.
Steve has been absent from the oche for the past couple of weeks due to a severe case of tennis elbow.
In an exclusive interview for the Blog, Steve revealed that despite some self-administered medication the arm was still very sore. "I'm playing tonight because I am slipping down the Club rankings table and I need to pick up some points. I'm not expecting much but any points will help", said Steve.
Editor's note: We don't play tennis at West City, we play darts. Steve has Tennis Elbow, not Darts Elbow. Just Saying ! Don't want to get stiffed with an ACC premium !
As you might expect, unfortunately Steve didn't make it past the qualifying group with his injury.
Whoa ! Just checked the results sheet.
Hold the press.
Re-write.
Steve did make it to the KO rounds.
Editor's note: Maybe there is a story here. Keep writing, we're going to miss the deadline
"The Pirate" sailed past Frank Riddell, won over the heroin of the night Colleen Curreen, dispatched the villain Jamie Roberts and cruised into the final against the anti-hero Harrison Donegan.
Editor's note: This is beginning to sound like another movie script. Stick to the darts you airhead or you're fired !
"The Pirate", tennis elbow or not, served out the final (Editor's note: Like what you did there 😆) to win the night and some much needed ranking points.
Editor's note: Make sure you get a Dr's note from Steve next week. This story seems a bit exaggerated to me. Winning with a crook arm. Phewy !!! This is supposed to be a credible blog.
Well done Steve. Impressive win with the injury and all.
See you all at the club on Thursday, 7pm sharp !
Editor's note: Remember to remove these notes before posting to the blog, dumb-ass
Govt Health Warning: Drinking too many Gin and Tonics on a Friday night can lead to split personality disorder
