Club Night Diary 2 July 2020

West City Darts Club Night 2 July 2020
This post about the West City Darts Club Night is sponsored by DC Comics.

Actual results are slow in coming, so here we go again.. back to my Darting Diaries 😲

Qualifying

First game up in the qualifying group was 'The Riddler'. The Riddler was in form, going by his tales of on-line darts, where he has been having a lot of success progressing through the rounds of the NHS tournament. Keep it up !

First leg and The Riddler was true to form racing ahead and on to a double while I was still in the high two hundreds. But he kept missing that double. He couldn't finish.

If he was staring to panic I was getting excited. Another couple of darts and I would be on a double too.

BAM ! I had won the first game.

Second leg, I was trailing again. But this time I was closer. The Riddler was on a double again, ahead of me.

Same again - he couldn't finish a good fish supper let a lone a leg of darts. Good job I wasn't playing "The Penguin" cos that guy likes his fish suppers.

Back to the game score. BOOM ! 2-0

Immediately after the game The Riddler got on his mobile to Commissioner Gordon. "Be on the look out, there is a burglar in town", I heard him say. WhaaaatEver. You take your chances.

Next up I beat young Cassidy then it was on to Patman (oops bit of a typo there, should have been Batman, but it works for me). BING ! 1-0 to Patman. BADDA ! 1-1 BOOM ! 1-2. How could I lose that. Thought I was the super hero in this comic strip 😏

Fourth game and I dispatched Lisa. Back on track and qualified for another KO round.

Last game and looking to build my confidence with a win against undefeated "Shaun of the Dead". Not really a DC Comic character but the resemblance is uncanny (at least after a couple of gin and tonics as I am writing this 😄).

KER-POW ! 0-1....0-2. What happened back there? Shaun was Shaun and I was Dead in the water. Another loss.  Games W3 and L2, good enough to qualify.

KO Rounds

In the spirit of this comic strip The Riddler was back in town and we were arch rivals again, in the first KO round.

This time he had a full bag of tricks. He was throwing me riddles I couldn't solve. How do you answer legs full of 140 and tons?

I had no answers. KAA-BOOOM ! 0-2 and I was out.

However I did take a call during the game (that could have affected my performance) from Alfred back at the bat cave. I needed to return there at speed as my post game cheese on toast was going cold. According to Alfred I haven't been winning enough prize money for a fish supper (damn that Riddler), but cheese on toast ain't so bad 😜.

To be continued...
