West City at the Canterbury Open

West City's Mike Day and Tony Lee shot down to Christchurch at the weekend to compete in the BDO ranked Canterbury Open

Tony Lee unfortunately came up against the impressive BDO 2020 World Championship debutant Darren Herewini in the last 32, going down 2-4. Great effort from TL as DW eventually went on to win the event. We are sure Tony will take that defeat on the chin and move onto the next event

Mike Day fared a lot better making the semi final and picking up another 10 NZDC ranking points. In the straight KO rounds Mike beat Nick Kohey 4-0, the irrepressible Bernie Smith 4-2 and Josh Walters 4-0.

 Mike lost in the semi 3-5 to the underrated Tukz Weko. Mike is starting to look good for the rest of 2020.
