West City 8 ADA 7

The West City Darts association defeated ADA 8 to 7 in a Renee Stacy Shield Challenge earlier today held at the Mangere Bowling Club, Mangere. The ADA team was Cody Harris, Marsh Tamatea, Chris Robson, Tony Bellis, Tukina Weko, Barry Kapa, Sonny Harris and Henry Ford. The West City team was Monty Tuhua, Wilson Henry, Ron Glavish, Steve Hanley, Brevis Herbert, Gordon Comrie, Stephen Holt and Marc Skinns.

ADA started well wining the two fours. In the pairs it was even with West City getting two wins and ADA 2 wins. West City won 5 singles and ADA two. This put the score at 7 all.

A teams game of 1001 of one leg was played to determine the winner. West City finished in 39 darts averaging a score of 77 per players throw. Marc Skinns hit a 180 in that leg.

Others to hit a 180 on the day were Chris Robson and Gordon Comrie. The highest start was Marsh Tamatea with 156.

The next challenge will be in November. This trophy has been played for in the Auckland Provincial area since 1960.
