Tony and Maria Win ADA Open Singles

Tony Lee won the Auckland Darts Association Open Men's singles earlier today at the Royal George clubrooms, Avondale racecourse by beating Peter Page 3 to one in the final. There were 9 qualifiers. Maria Siavale beat Raewyn Heavey in her final. There were 8 lady entrants. Both Tony and Maria had won the same title in 2009.

Ken and Peggy Win King Country Puma Open

Ken Moir representing the Glen Eden RSA won the King Country, Clubs NZ, Puma Open men's singles yesterday at the Taupo Cosmopolitan Club, Taniwha Street, Taupo. He defeated Warren Nicholson from the Mt Wellington RSA 5 - 1 in the final. There were 17 qualifiers.
Peggy Wikaira representing the Onehunga Working Men's Club defeated Maria Harris of the Waitomo Club in her final 5-2. There were 9 qualifiers.
Ken and Peggy recieved $150 each for the win and 11 Clubs NZ ranking points.

Brendon, Faye and Greg Win Sunday News mixed Threes

Brendon deed, Faye Shearsby and Greg West defeated Ken Moir, Wilson Henry and Peggy Wikaira 4 to 3 in the Sunday News mixed threes on Sunday at the West City Darts Assoc club rooms in Ranui. They won $1200 for first and Ken's team picked up $600 for second. There were 42 teams in all from as far away as Wellington and Australia. A Northland team of Brian Steed, john Chapman and Jo Steed were defeated by Brendon's team in the semi-final. Ken's team in the semi final defeated Sonny Harris, Tony Lee and Lindy Ogatau.
18 X 180S were scored. the highest ladies finish was 116 by Rita Wells. Darren, Cory and Eva Herewini family team from Kapi Mana won the consolation beating a West City team of Dean Webster. Jason Amos and Lorreta Hunter. Darren hit 157 finish in consolation final. Go to and search Sunday News darts mixed threes 2010 to see end match.

Cyndric Joyce and Janette Johnathon Win Auckland Open

Cyndric Joyce defeated Richard Te Whero in the Auckland Men's Open on Saturday at the West City Darts Association club rooms in Ranui. 82 players entered the field. Richard defeated Rob Szsabo in a tight game in the semi final . The final was one sided. Richard did win 2 legs hitting 76 to go out in one but had played his best darts early on. Richard was defending the title he won last year.

In the ladies final Janette defeated Malia Ioane 4 - 0. Malia had played well in the earlier games but could not find her range in final. There were 38 ladies entered. Janette defeated Peggy Wikaira in the semi final and Malia defeated Anna Neho.

National Service Club Pairs and Puma Open results.

Wilson Henry and Toko Hazel won the National Service Club men's pairs yesterday at the National Service club, Market Street, Hastings. After qualifying they were undefeated in both lives. There were 21 men's pairs. Jonathon Silcock scored the first 180.
In the ladies pairs Peggy Wikaira and Veronica Hazel won the final 3 to 1. Peggy had the highest ladies start with 146 and the first 180. 18 ladies pairs took part.
In the men's Puma Open held earlier today at the same venue Willis Fergus defeated Johnathon Silcock in the final. Wilson Henry won the consolation round beating Peter Page 4 to 0. Peter had the highest finish for the day with 137.
In the Ladies Puma Open final Kathy Orbell defeated Peggy Wikaira 6 to 5 in a very close game. In the consolation final Anna Neho defeated Dianne Fergus.
This tournament was a well organised and well run. Very generous prize money of $6000 paid out over the two days. I enjoyed this tournament and would recommend it to anyone. A well established tournament the Club NZ ranking points on offer this year gave the tournament more significance which should see its popularity grow.

Akld Club NZ Puma Open 29/1/11

Royal George Raise $508 for under 24's

Last night a nominated pairs tournament was held at the Royal George club rooms at the Avondale race course to raise money for the Auckland under 24 team which are playing in the NZ under 24 championships in Kapi Mana later this month. Organised by Lou Williams she was pleased to hand over a cheque of $508 to peter Page, secretary, West City Darts Association at the end of the evening. This money will assist the players with travel and accommodation costs.

14 pairs played. Wilson Henry and Toko Hazel defeated Dean Webster and Jo Kinita in the final. Casey Williams won the prize for the first 180. Dean kindly donated his prize money to the under 24 team. Wilson and Toko are travelling to Hastings this weekend to play in the National Service Club pairs and the Puma Open. Good luck to them both. Most other top Auckland players will be staying in Auckland to play in the APDE pairs in Papakura on Sunday.

Peggy and Ken Win APDE singles

Peggy Wikaira and Ken Moir of West City won the women's and men's Auckland provincial Dart Executive singles respectively this past Sunday at the West City Darts Association club rooms in Ranui. Approximately 100 men and ladies competed. Peggy defeated Vaine Blackie 3-1 in the ladies final finishing the last leg on 100. Ken defeated Paul Williams 3-1 in the men's final. Ken also won this title last year. Peggy had the highest finish with 156. John Sinclair had the most 180's with 4. This coming Sunday the APDE pairs are being held at the Papakura club.
