West City Results from Nationals

West City Dart Association members competing this last week at Nelson in the National Darts Championships had mixed results.

Mike Day, Paul Williams, Ken Moir and Captain Monty Tuhua started the week as part of the Auckland Mens's region team winning the National title after defeating Canterbury in the final. Mike in the games leading to the final managed a 14 dart leg of 701 and nine 180's.

The Auckland Ladies region team, Captained by Peggy Wikaira and including Sarah Joseph lost to Taumaranui King Country in the final after a tied result and a team game. Peggy nearly stole the team game for Auckland just missing a 125 finish before Taumaranui finished on 34.

In other results P J Johnson and Janet Greatorex made the last 16 in the Husband and wife. Peggy Wikaira playing with Graham McIlroy and Lou Williams playing with Ken Moir made the last 16 in the mixed pairs. In the NZ open singles Monty Tuhua and Peggy made the last 32. In the Ladies pairs Peggy and Martha Ka made the last 16. Paul Williams and Mike Day made the last 32 in the men's pairs. Monty made the last 32 in the men's singles. Peggy made the last 8 in the Ladies singles.

Mike Day was selected for the North Island men's B team which defeated the South Island men's B team.
